China’s Nov manufacturing PMI indicates expansion, reaches 50.2
Dec 03, 2019 (China Knowledge) - According to National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the Purchasing Manager's Index (PMI) for China's manufacturing sector increased to 50.2, up 0.9 from Oct, higher than the threshold 50, indicating that China's manufacturing sector has started to expand.
Among the sub-index, production rose to 52.6, up 1.8%, highest in H2. New orders rose 51.3, of which the export and import orders increased to 48.8 and 49.8, respectively, showing growing purchasing power and productivity.
In terms of company size, the PMI of large companies was the only one which exceeded 50, reading 50.9, up 1.0% from Oct. PMI of medium- and small-sized companies increased to 49.5 and 49.9, respectively.
In addition, China's non-manufacturing PMI reported 54.4, up 1.6 from Oct, mainly due to year-end consumption demand.
