General Motors China Q1 sales rose 69%, all models performed
Apr 08, 2021 (China Knowledge) - U.S General Motors (GM) and its joint venture in China sold over 780,000 vehicles in China in the first quarter of 2021, up 69% YoY.
GM attributed its sales increase in China to midsize and large SUVs, luxury and premium vehicles, and multi-purpose vehicles.
In the first quarter of this year, the company's Buick sales in China rose 73% compared to a year. Cadillac had sales of more than 57,000 units, setting a first-quarter record with a 114% increase YoY, while Chevrolet saw a 27% increase.
GM China's Wuling brand had sales doubled to more than 347,000 units; and the Baojun brand saw a 5% increase.
GM also reported that it sold 642,250 vehicles in the United States in the first quarter, up 4% YoY.
