China's Stock Mkts Closed Updates: SSE Index +0.4%, SZSE Index -0.6%, total trading amount to USD 177 bln
Sep 22, 2021 (China Knowledge) - Shanghai Composite Index closed at 3,628.49, up 0.40%, Shenzhen Component Index finished at 14,277.08, down 0.57%. The trading volume for two exchanges recorded USD 177.3 bln, down 14.18% from the previous trading day.
Utility was today's top performing sector, seeing the highest rise of 5.16%, follows by Mining and Real Estate, gaining 4.41% and 2.37%, respectively. Leisure Service sector saw the biggest drop of 3.86%, followed by food & beverage (-2.69%) and banking (-2.27%).
Of the 4,483 stocks on Mainland China, there were 2,158 (48%) gainers, 2,199 (49%) losers, and 113 (3%) remained unchanged. There are 2 new IPOs launched today.
A total of 128 stocks hit the max limit up while 8 touched the fall limit. The CSRC set maximum 10% rise and 10% fall of a stock in a single day for all A-shares except those on the STAR Market and ChiNext board which are allowed a 20% rise or fall in a single day. These prevent stocks from being traded for the rest of the day once hitting the rise or fall limit to curb extreme volatilities in either direction.
