China's Stock Mkts Closed Updates: SSE Index -1.42%, SZSE Index -1.65%, HSI -1.23%, total trading amount to USD 157 bln

Apr 07, 2022 (China Knowledge) - Shanghai Composite Index closed at 3,236.70, down 1.42%, Shenzhen Component Index finished at 11,972.02, down 1.65%, the Hang Seng Index closed at 21,808.98, down 1.23%. The trading volume for three exchanges recorded USD 157.2 bln, down 5.31% from the previous trading day.

Real Estate sector saw the biggest drop of 3.69%, followed by agriculture (-3.07%) and IT hardware and software (-2.94%).

Of the 4,774 stocks on Mainland China, there were 589 (12%) gainers, 4,127 (86%)  losers, and 39 (1%)  remained unchanged. There are 2 new IPOs launched today.

A total of 51 stocks hit the max limit up while 37 touched the fall limit. The CSRC set maximum 10% rise and 10% fall of a stock in a single day for all A-shares except those on the STAR Market and ChiNext board which are allowed a 20% rise or fall in a single day. These prevent stocks from being traded for the rest of the day once hitting the rise or fall limit to curb extreme volatilities in either direction.
