Alibaba and Kingland team up to modernize China’s agriculture sector
Sep 26, 2018 (China Knowledge) - Kingland Technology <000711:SZ> has announced its partnership with Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing arm of Alibaba Group <BABA:NYSE>, in a statement released by the company today. The partnership of two companies will push forward the use of technology and provide solutions for the farming and agriculture sectors of China. Through this partnership, both companies will explore the use of big data, and artificial intelligence (AI), as well as promote the use of Internet of Things (IoT) products.
The National Development Reform Commission of China and the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture had released an action plan three years ago to speed up e-commerce development for the farming and agriculture sector. Since then, Alibaba has been actively pursuing the use of technology to reach and capture the rural population dealing in the farming and agriculture sector.
Alibaba has been using its ecosystem, AI, cloud solutions and e-commerce platforms to help companies in the farming and agriculture sectors run their operations more efficiently. The company has rolled out its ET Agriculture Brain project, which applies AI technologies to monitor activities of livestock and agriculture products. The program has since been adopted by several leading pig farming companies and agricultural farming businesses.
On the other hand, Kingland offers intellect building, ecological management, water saving, agriculture technology, and related computer system development services. Through this partnership, the company hopes to enhance the efficiency of its management in agriculture products, safety control and product traceability.
The expertise both companies possess will help drive the agriculture e-commerce development in China.
