Alibaba Cloud cooperates with HK’s PolyU to promote AI application
Nov 14, 2018 (China Knowledge) - Hong Kong's Polytechnic University (PolyU) with Alibaba Cloud has signed a partnership Hong Kong, yesterday, to strengthen research in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and promote the application of AI technology in urban management and medical care.
Two representatives, vice chancellor of PolyU professor Wei Bingjiang and Hu Xiaoming, president of Alibaba Cloud, have signed the agreement.
Both sides will discuss and establish a joint research hub, in the field of building smart cities. They will employ cooperation in big data and deep neural network applied into public transportation and urban planning. Automatic diagnostic procedures with AI expertise will also be explored jointly by two parties. Additionally, price reduction in health care treatment and clinical incident prevention are included in the research areas.
According to reports, the initial research results will be applied in Hong Kong and then extended to Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and overseas.
Alibaba Cloud has expressed its commitment to provide domestic customers with overall AI solution. According to the world leading IT research organization Gartner, Alibaba Cloud ranked the third place in the list of global public cloud in 2017.
