Vanke, Microsoft to cooperate in launching a “future city lab”

Sep 03, 2019 (China Knowledge) - Vanke (000002), China’s property giant based in Shenzhen, along with Microsoft (MSFT), recently kicked off the “future city lab” initiative together in Shanghai. The initiative focuses on the development and design of urban management solutions for smart cities.

30 Aug, at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), Vanke and Microsoft announced the strengthening of their cooperative strategies and establishment of a research institution. Both parties will invest resources and introduce ecological partners to jointly research and develop diversified urban management solutions that meet the needs of the Chinese market.

They will offer advanced technological solutions for all types of urban spaces through cloud computing, Bog Data, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT). The lab will focus on smart homes, intelligent architecture, and smart logistics, and provide opportunities for more industrial partners to participate in China’s construction and development through plans promotion and standards sharing.

At the first World Artificial Intelligence Conference held in September last year, Vanke and Microsoft signed a memorandum of strategic cooperation in Shanghai, announcing the joint construction of a sustainable collaboration mechanism and platform to explore the feasibility of cooperation in the fields of intelligent innovation and technology incubator.

Vanke’s “future city lab” is the latest achievement of the strategic cooperation of the two parties. Both Vanke and Microsoft intend to cooperate in the perspective of intelligent data analysis service platform, intelligent property, intelligent buildings, smart homes, and artificial intelligence technology training platforms.
