1st to 7th October Holidays to celebrate China’s 70th National Day
Sep 29, 2019 (China Knowledge) - To celebrate the 70th anniversary on the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the country will be celebrating the long holidays from the 1st to 7th Oct. On the 1st Oct, there will be a National Day military parade and mass pageantry in Beijing. Viewers worldwide can watch these grand events on China Central Television (CCTV) live across many channels.
The celebration of the 70th anniversary will be held at Tiananmen Square in Beijing. Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the PRC Central Military Commission, will deliver an important speech at the ceremony. After the celebration, a grand military parade and mass pageantry will be held.
The military parade for the 70th anniversary will be China’s 18th military parade since the People’s Republic of China was founded in 1949.
According to Major-General Cai Zhijun, the parade will last about 80 minutes and it is planned to include 59 square echelons and joint military bands, with a total size of about 15,000 people. 580 weapons and equipment will also be inspected, which will make the parade one of the largest in recent times.
On the evening of 1 Oct, a National Day celebration will be held in Tiananmen Square in Beijing. Party and state leaders will gather together with representatives and watch theatrical performances and fireworks.
The parade will begin at about 7: 00 am Beijing time. Major TV stations including CCTV1, CCTV 4, CCTV 13 and other channels will broadcast the entire process of the military parade live.
