Baidu, Hangzhou Century partners in AI apps on medicare

Oct 30, 2019 (China Knowledge) - China’s tech giant Baidu (BIDU) is set to partner Hangzhou Century (300078) to research and develop innovation on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the medical care industry.

Founded in 2003, Hangzhou Century Co., Ltd entered the medicare sector in 2015, and has since become one of the top companies in the smart medical care industry. The company aims to tap on smart technologies to provide real-time information for medical facilities. Hangzhou Century currently serves numerous established hospitals across China.

Under the partnership, Hangzhou Century will incorporate its products into an AI system known as the Clinical Decision Support System, which will be provided by Baidu. Baidu will also provide relevant AI technologies for Hangzhou Century, and work together to explore applications of AI in the medical care industry.

The partnership is expected to enable Hangzhou Century to better comercialise its smart medical products, and improve the company’s services and unique product range. Moreover, with Baidu’s resources and deep knowledge in AI, the partnership will see acceleration in the digitalization of the healthcare industry in the country.

The financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
